SBS 2008 - Exchange 2007 >>> Outlook 2007/2010 Auto-Archive not working
Hi all, I´m facing problems to sanitize our users mailboxes ( about Auto-Archive), since we migrated a customer from SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 and exported mailbox with Exmerge, now this Outlook feature doesn´t work! I found these articles below that explain a little bit OUTLOOK´S AUTO-ARCHIVE feature, so I assume that these itens (mails, notes, tasks and etc) have been change their CREATE DATE / MODIFY DATE... I have a user with so many itens received in 2006 but outlook (by Advanced Search) show the CREATE/MODIFY DATE field value as migration date!!!! So, here is the problem!!!! >>>> How to reset this fields or to teach Outlook to ignore CREATE/MODIFY fields????? AutoArchive not Working http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/archivenotworking.htm Description of archiving and the AutoArchive feature in Outlook http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;290847&x=9&y=8 tks, Renato Pereira

It's well known that using Exmerge resets those times, as well as changing other things. Actually, the fields have already been reset. If you ask Outlook to ignore them, it'll never archive anything. Further, Outlook's archiving is not nearly as good as Exchange 2007's managed folders. Seriously, you shouldn't be "archiving" stuff in personal folders. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . PST files just give's you more problems and work, try to not use that method. Save it in the mailbox instead, that's a better option.Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

Sure... I had to 'archive mannually' user by user and so generates a new PST for archive old itens base on 'receive date' / 'send date'... Tks all for reply!
